We currently have a vacancy for a Parish Pedagogue in the Södra Vedbo parish. Södra Vedbo parish covers a large area with Eksjö as the central town. Your primary location will be in Mariannelund and Ingatorp.

We are looking for someone who wants to work with children and youth in parish activities. As a person, we want you to be confident and find it exciting to meet all kinds of people from age 0 and up. In Mariannelund and Ingatorp, there is a well-developed children and youth ministry with activities for lower and middle school students, a confirmation group, a youth group, and work with young leaders.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. The work involves both independent work and collaborative group work. In the small local team, priests, musicians, a diaconal assistant, children's leaders, and a pedagogue work closely together. You will also become part of the Children, Youth, and Education unit, where all pedagogues and children's leaders in the parish collaborate. Together, we are 10 people in the unit.

The position is full-time and permanent. We wish for you to start your employment on August 17. If you wish to start later, we can discuss this.

Responsibilities

• Lead and plan children and youth activities in the Hässleby-Kråkshult and Ingatorp-Bellö parishes.
• Participate in the leadership and execution of confirmation education.
• Lead and plan camp activities for both children and youth.
• Develop work that allows us to offer our youth a place in the parish throughout their adult lives.
• Presence at school for one morning per week and participation in lessons when the school visits the church.
• Participation in church services a few times per term.

What are the locations you will be working in?

Mariannelund is located in the heart of stories, with Filmbyn Småland within the parish boundaries. Mariannelund has approximately 1,800 permanent residents, but more during the summer when many travel to Vimmerby and Astrid Lindgren's World, located about 3 miles away.

Your workplace is in Kyrkans Hus (The Church House), which is currently being renovated. When you join us in the autumn, it will be nearly finished. On October 15, you will move into the office in a newly renovated building with activity rooms.

Ingatorp is a cozy town with its own slalom slope – Valbacken. Here you will find one of Sweden's most beautiful churches with a remarkable church spire. Approximately 1,500 people live in the town. In Ingatorp, we have a large parish hall with excellent facilities for children and youth.

There is also plenty of countryside around, where you will find the smaller towns of Kråkshult, Bellö, Hjältevad, and Bruzaholm.

Qualifications

• We are looking for someone who is an educated parish pedagogue or has a pedagogical education that the parish considers equivalent.
• A B driver's license is required for the position, but a car is not. A minibus is available at the workplace.
• You must be a member of the Church of Sweden and well-grounded in its faith and life.
• Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. Upon employment, you will need to submit an extract from the criminal register intended for work with children and youth.
